This page contains a brief overview of some of the investigations we have performed.

  9/26/2010 - Residence - Council Bluffs, Iowa

More details on the results of this investigation will be released soon.

  7/31/2010 - Residence - Council Bluffs, Iowa
Summary
The investigation began at approximately 19:00. We arrived on site and were led on a tour of the residence and told of the claims of activity in the different areas of the house. We then proceeded to load the equipment into the kitchen. After setting up our command center for the evening, we analyzed the best locations for the placement of our stationary equipment. We placed one DVR camera in the living room along the West wall pointing through the living room and into the dining room and kitchen door. This camera was also aimed to view the front door into the living room. A second DVR camera was placed in Aydan's room in the Southeast corner, pointed towards the door into the room. This was choosen because of the claims of shadows on the nearby wall. A third DVR camera was placed in the Southwest corner of their son's bedroom, pointed towards the bed. The fourth DVR camera was placed in the Southeast corner of the parent's bedroom aimed towards the nightstand that was flipped over. We continued to place remote thermometers throughout the house. One thermometer was placed in the middle of the living room. A second was placed in the middle of Aydan's bedroom. A third was placed in the parent's bedroom near the closet door. We then placed digital recorders with each DVR camera, timestamping each recorder with the synchronized DVR time as well as stationary EMF meters in the view of each DVR camera. The accelerometer, which measures tri-axis movement, was placed on the ground in the attic near the filing cabinet. We completed setup by walking through the different areas and recording baseline EMF and temperature readings. Throughout the evening, we performed a variety of sessions in each of the different areas of claimed activity. A few small events occured durring the investigation. While Craig and Kyle were conducting a session in the living room, Kelly and Janet visibly saw the stationary EMF meters go off in Aydan's room. The meter on their son's bed flash 4 times in course of 3 seconds, while at the exact same time, the meter near the door flashed 10 times over the course of 4 seconds indicating a rise in EMF to about 2 - 2.5 mG for that time period in a room that registered a baseline reading of .2 mG. This only occured once during the course of the evening, and only in his room. The other meters were cross referenced and did not show any signs of EMF change at that time. Another occurance involved Kelly and Janet hearing something be moved around in the living room, although at this time, we could not verify the location of the cat. While Craig and Kyle were in the attic, the K-II meter did have a 20 mG spike, however they could not get it to happen again. We did also notice that the accelerometer registered movement for a period of time while none of our investigators were in the attic.

Evidence
The evidence we gathered from this investigation consisted primarily of audio. We had a clip that was taken from the stationary recorder. In the clip, you can hear what sounds like something moving around as well as footsteps. The owners confirmed hear this previously. We also had an EVP clips of something saying "I need help" and "uh-oh."

Conclusion
Upon reviewing the evidence for this investigation, we seemed to notice the majority of activity through our recorders in the attic. The activity of movement and potential footsteps seemed in excess of anything that could've been any sort of animal infestation. The accelerometer results during a period of time while no investigators were in the attic seems to support this even more. Based off of this information and a few of the other pieces of evidence as well as occurences during the time of the investigation, we believe that there is something going on at the residence. The question has arised to ourselves as to what extent the activity is and whether or not is limited to the house or is potentially drawn to the family itself. Due to the claims of some of these entities being potentially children, it may be possible that they/it was afraid of our presence in the residence. Based off of this investigation, we would recommend a follow-up investigation in which the family would be present during the investigation and in their normal routine as we observed and had our equipment recording. Also due to the claims, the more important issue is the resolution of the problem of the apparations speaking to their son. In the event that another follow up investigation is not requested, it is recommend that the home owners address the entitie(s) themselves and tell them to leave. Since, one of the EVP clips sounds like something asking for help, it would also be recommend to pray for any spirit that may be trapped. We will be able to provide information to them on the best way to accomplish these tasks. If at this point the activity does not subside, we could enlist the services of a Catholic priest to address whatever may be in the home. While at this point, we do not believe anything preternatual(entities that have never walked this planet) to be in the house, we do believe that whatever is there does not have the best intentions based off of the claims of activity.

  5/10/2010 - Residence - Omaha, Nebraska
Summary
We arrived at the residence at approximately 20:30. Upon arrival, we performed a walkthrough of the residence based off of the claims of the activity. We then proceeded to determine the location for our operations center, which was setup in the basement living room. We then continued to unload the equipment into our operations center.
We proceeded to setup our equipment. We placed one DVR camera in the baby's bedroom in the Northeast corner pointed towards the door to the attic. We placed another DVR camera in the East end of the upstairs hallway pointed West down the upstairs hallway. We had a third DVR camera at the bottom of the stairway pointed up the stairs. The last DVR camera was placed in the attic on the East end, pointed West across the attic. We then placed 4 stationary visible alert EMF meters within the the view of each DVR camera. We also placed four remote thermometers within the immediate vicinity of each DVR camera. Lastly, we placed the accelerometer at the East end of the upstairs hallway.
Throughout the evening, the team broke up into two groups of two and alternated performing a variety of EVP sessions in different locations throughout the house. Throughout the night, we did not seem to have much activity, with the exception of Craig feeling something brush up against him while in the attic. Towards the end of the evening, Kyle and Craig had a fairly active K-II session. During the course of this session, something was knocked over in the upstairs bathroom. The investigation concluded at approximately 03:45.

Evidence
We caught a couple of small class C EVP’s, but none that we could classify as “undisputable” evidence. We were able to capture the audio of whatever was knocked over in the 2nd floor bathroom. In addition we caught something forcefully knocked over in the baby’s bedroom, unfortunate, none of the cameras were aim at whatever was knocked over in that bedroom. We also had a clip to show the client of the active K-II session that we experience toward the end of the investigation.

Conclusion
During this investigation, Craig had a personal experience in which something brushed against his back while in the attic. During our initial baseline sweep, there as about a 1.5 to 2.0mg EMF detected throughout the 1st, 2nd and attic floors, however it drop off later in the tigation. Craig and Kyle also had an interesting K-II session in the upstairs hallway right next to the bathroom. During this session, something was heard being knocked over in the bathroom. However upon reviewing the evidence no indisputable EVPs were caught nor were we able to catch

This is one of those borderline cases in which a couple of personal experiences occurred, but nothing else in evidence review was found to support any additional activity. Although we did have the what seemed to be an active K-II session, it proves to be inconclusive. We did hear a couple of objects being knocked over, but we didn't have any video footage that was able to catch the objects and determine the cause. Currently we would classify this investigation inconclusive and to have a follow-up investigation performed, because at this time, there is not enough indisputable evidence to support the residence having paranormal activity.

  4/5/2010 - Residence - Avoca, Iowa
Summary
The investigation began at approximately 20:00. We arrived at the residence and were greeted by Geneva, the daughter of the owner. She gave us a walkthrough of the house and of the different hot spots of activity. We then gathered our team and decided on a location for our operations center, which we posted in the kitchen nook on the main floor. We then brought in all of our equipment and decided on the placement for the DVR cameras, remote thermometers and accelerometer.

We placed one DVR camera in the main floor living room area on the east side aimed west across the living room. One particular claim in this area involved seeing an apparition of a ball roll back and forth across the room. A second DVR camera was placed in the bedroom on the main floor. The camera was placed in the Northeast corner aimed to the Southwest corner, covering the doors into the room. A claim involved with this particular location was the appearance of a mist in the doorway on the South side of the room. We continued to place the third DVR camera in the upstairs living room along the Western wall aimed east across the room, with ability to see through the doorway and down the hallway. The fourth DVR camera was place in the guest bedroom upstairs, adjacent to the living room. The camera was positioned in the Northeast corner, aimed towards the West wall. The camera was positioned to be able to capture the bed area. Claims included an apparition of a little girl alongside the bed as well as the bed covers being pulled off of an individual. We placed the remote accelerometer in the upstairs guest room. There were claims of footsteps all around on the second floor, and this area seemed like a good place due to the stability of the ground to register movements on the accelerometer. We set up four remote thermometers: one in the middle of the first floor living room, one in the main floor bedroom, one in the upstairs Southeast bedroom and one in the upstairs guest bedroom. We continued to place stationary EVP recorders with each DVR camera and began the investigation.

We performed various sessions throughout the night in the different hot spots of the residence as well as some of the other areas that did not have any current noted reports of activity. During one of the sessions, Kyle, Craig and Jeff were in the upstairs guest room, and ended up being led around the 2nd floor by something making noises and interacting with the K-II meter.

The investigation concluded at approximately 02:30.

Evidence
We found a few definitive EVP clips from the investigation. One of the most prominent clips included a disembodied voice which seemed to us as saying "Help Me". A few minutes later, Lowell asks the entity if there is something it thinks we should know and again you what sounded like "Help Me" but a bit quieter. During this investigation, we captured another EVP that sound like something spoken in another language.

We also captured some video on MiniDV of a K-II session interaction.

Conclusion
During this investigation, we had some interesting things happen. While Craig, Kyle and Jeff were in the upstairs guest room, they heard something get knocked down in the upstairs living room. This led the three into what seem like a game of being led around by noises and K-II responses. Later in the evening, Mary had felt that she was touched on her right thigh when nothing and no one else was around her.

We had spent time performing sessions in the downstairs bedroom, but didn't experience any activity at the time. However, upon reviewing that evidence, we had found a few definitive EVP's in that location.

Ultimately, upon reviewing all of the evidence and analyzing the EVP's we found and taking into account our experiences of that evening, we feel that there is paranormal activity in the residence.

2/28/2010 - Squirrel Cage Jail Follow-up - Council Bluffs, Iowa
Summary
We arrived at the Squirrel Cage Jail at approximately 20:00 February 28th. Along for the investigation were the two investigators in training, Chad and Savannah. We did introductions of the team and since this was a follow-up investigation and Savannah works as a guide at the jail, we had Savannah walk everyone back through the jail, speaking about the history and hot spots. Upon conclusion of the tour, we proceeded to setup the equipment. One DVR camera was place in the 1st floor commons area pointed toward solitary. A 2nd DVR camera was placed in the 2nd floor juvenille cells along the north wall, pointed toward the door and across the hallway. The 3rd DVR camera was placed in the the 3rd floor jail cell area, in the southern cells, pointed towards the entrance. The 4th DVR camera was place on the 4th floor in the northern room. The camera was positioned in the northwest corner, pointed toward the door. We continued by placing a stationary EVP recorder with each DVR camera. We also proceeded to place 2 remote USB thermometers throughout the jail. One thermometer was placed in the North room on the 4th floor and the other was placed in solitary. Throughout the night, we split into different groups and investigated many different areas throughout the jail. We helped get the two investigators in training use to asking questions and handling the equipment. The investigation concluded at approximately 02:00 on March 1st.

Evidence
The evidence during this investigation was limited to EVP's. One of these clips was captured in the commons area on the 1st floor. Toward the end of the investigation, a voice was captured saying what we interpreted as "They need to be done."
One of the most compelling pieces of evidence that we found was the voice of a female humming in the jail. The humming was actually caught on three separate EVP recorders, with the loudest being in the Juvenile area and lasting approximately 10 seconds,. Futhermore, on the recordings, the humming was loud enough that we would've heard it at the time of the investigation and noted it, however, no one present heard the humming.

Conclusion
Coming into this investigation, we were hoping to find more evidence to support our findings from our first investigation at the jail. We picked this location for investigator training due to evidence we had gathered the first time, as well as having the investigators in training experience the history of jail. Throughout the night, we ventured into different hot spots that we had experienced from our previous investigation. We did not experience any major noticable or recordable hot spots, nor did we have any EMF spikes or K-II responses. Overall the main first hand experiences we had included the voices that Kyle, Chad and Savannah heard in the common area that was captured on the EVP recorder as well as the responsive knock that was heard by Kyle, Chad and Craig in the infirmary. While we were there, we did not feel a whole lot of activity going on and unfortunately did not get any sort of responses with K-II as we did in the last investigation. However, going back through the evidence we able to catch some EVP evidence that we feel were very significant and definitely supports our findings from the previous investigation. We try hard to rule out any EVP recordings that may have been caused by external factors as well as possible cross contamination from other noises and investigators in other areas of the jail. What we are left with in the end are pieces of evidence that we have tried to debunk and yet cannot find any natural causes. With the audio evidence that we have found, most notably the voice of the woman humming as well as the the quiet whisper in the commons area of "they need to be done," we feel that there was enough evidence to support the Pottawattamie County Squirrel Cage Jail being haunted.

  11/23/2009 - Residence - Walnut, Iowa
Summary
We arrived at the residence at approximately 19:00. The owner gave a tour around the house, talking of her claims of activity and their locations.

The 3rd floor of the house is the attic, which has now been converted into an apartment. Claims of activity in the attic consist of a 5 year old boy talking to a spirit in this area, as well as a piece of drywall that had been put up during the renovations had been removed and taken down. There have also been claims of children’s voices and footsteps.

The 2nd floor had a sewing room in which shadows have been seen crossing the door way. There is also a quilting room in which a mist appeared and began to take the shape of torso and then dissipate. Another room on this floor seems to give her bad feelings.

The basement had three shelves that got knocked over as well as various accounts of overwhelming, bad feelings. Crying has also been claimed to be heard coming from the basement.

After the walkthrough, Lowell continued to interview the owner. The rest of the crew began to start setting up the equipment.

We had a limited amount of time in the 3rd floor/attic area, since this area is rented out. Janet and Mary performed an EVP session in the attic apartment, followed by Craig and Kyle investigating the attic area.

Four DVR cameras were set up in the following locations: 2nd floor sewing room, 2nd floor quilting room, 2nd floor west bedroom and in the basement.

Throughout the night, we performed EVP and K-II sessions in each of the areas of claimed activity. Janet and Mary investigated the 2nd floor west bedroom. After their session, Kyle and Craig investigated the quilting room on the south side of the 2nd floor. Kyle, Craig and Lowell proceed to investigate in the basement where Kyle was touched on his right hip. Shortly thereafter the K-II meter became very reactive, moving all over the scale. We then tried to look for any other sources of EMF that may have caused the meter to respond, but were unable to do so. They then moved to an adjacent area of the basement and the K-II meter briefly began to respond again. Kyle, Craig and Lowell regrouped upstairs to discuss the next actions. They then decided to go back down and have the three of the spread out into separate areas of the basement.

After the second session in the basement, Janet and Mary proceeded to investigate the sewing room on the 2nd floor.

To finish off the evening, Lowell suggested having Mary and Janet investigate with him in the basement. This was due to the possibility that the entity could be child-like and may respond better to women. They setup in the same area of the basement as the earlier session with Kyle, Craig and Lowell. Shortly thereafter, the K-II began to react much in the same way as before.

The activity began to subside and Janet relayed that whoever was with us could touch one of them. After a few moments, Mary (8 months pregnant) felt something push down on the top of her stomach. She said she definitely felt that it was from the outside, not the inside.

After asking a few more questions, the K-II meter began to react heavily again. Janet started asking more questions to whatever was there. It seems as though some of the questions were being answered, whereas other activity was sporadic.

Concluding this session, we concluded the investigation and began to pack up the equipment.

Evidence
The evidence gathered consisted of a few EVP's that were caught in a few of the claimed hot spots. This also included one of a moaning/cry that one of residents had heard coming from that particular location. We also caught EVP's in the basement location in which the investigators were touched and the K-II sessions occured.

Conclusion
Our team really enjoyed investigating this residence. Some very interesting things happened during this investigation, most notably, the active K-II sessions and two of our investigators being touched.

The K-II meter is a very interesting device. When using the K-II we have learned about how it reacts to normal magnetic fields when it is in close proximity, such as an alarm clock or an AC adapter that is in use. The lights illuminate and stay constant when in the presence of a field. They don’t tend to fluctuate. Other devices such as transmitters can cause the false K-II reads, however they react in a somewhat similar manner. They will do burst when they are in a relatively close proximity. However, in these cases we had variable, inconsistent reads, jumping from 1.5mG up to greater than 20mG, with various readings in between.

The K-II is a device that we can use as a means of communication or indicating the presence of something paranormal. In this investigation, we had some success with while at the same time, trying to find any other things in the area that could interfere with K-II. We could not find other sources of EMF in the area of the K-II. In addition, the K-II only behaved like this on 3 occasions during the course of the investigation. All were in the same area of the basement, with the exception of a couple minor bursts in the basement closer to the stairs and one 20 mG burst in the attic. The K-II was brought into all areas that we investigated in the house, with the only manipulation in the basement.

We choose to use personal experiences as evidence, due to the fact of trust within the group. We all take the approach that most claims and activity can be debunked and are not quick to jump to paranormal activity. So when one of our investigators has a personal experience that they are confident of, we all agree and trust their experience. The fact that two of our investigators were touched is a strong argument for evidence. In addition, they were both touched in nearly the same location in the basement.

When investigating the other areas of the house, we didn’t feel much at the time. However, as paranormal investigators, this does not mean anything and the evidence review may provide additional pieces of evidence. We did find some EVP’s in these other areas that we could not discard.

We did not capture a mist forming or a shadow crossing the door of the sewing, but paranormal activity never occurs on demand or necessarily in the way that we would in which we would like it to.

Overall, we feel we could classify this residence as haunted. With the evidence collected we feel there is enough data to confirm a haunting. We don’t feel that anything here is malicious in nature. At no time did any investigator feel they were in danger from anything in the home.

11/6/2009 - The Stanley Hotel - Estes Park, Colorado
Although, this was not an offical investigation conducted by the full Paranormal Workshop team, we wanted to list it and detail the investigating that Craig and Kyle performed.

This was a Beyond Reality Event hosted by T.A.P.S. Other individuals were investigating at the same time. Kyle and Craig spent 5 hours investigations 6 different areas throughout the Stanley Hotel grounds.

The investigation began in the employee tunnels with Kris Williams. They continued onto the concert hall and met up with Grant Wilson and Amy Bruni. Here Craig and Kyle conducted an EVP session on the stage. After concluding this EVP session, they moved to another claimed hot spot in the concert hall, the ladies restroon on the lower level. Finshing up the concert hall, they moved to a walkway path underneath the concert hall entrance.

The investigation continued in room 1302 of the Manor House with Syd Schultz. In an episode of Ghost Hunters in which they are investigating the Stanley, this is the room in which the table moved. During the session here, a shadow was seen in the hallway outside the door. In addition, movement was heard over by the room entrance. During this session a flashlight laid on the ground was turned on.

They continued onto room 418 with Britt Griffith, in which a past occupant reported the bed shaking. Not much happended in this room.

They moved on to room 401, where in the Ghost Hunter's episode, Jasons's glas broke and the closet door was opened. When we asked for sign of the presence of whatever might be there, there was knock that came from behind Craig. Craig then asked again and another knock was heard. Later in the session, a female individual reported being grabbed on her bottom.

The investigation concluded with room 217. This is the room in which Stephen King stayed and had bags unpacked an put away. EVP sessions were conducted by Mark and Debbie Constantino.

It was a great place to investigate and are looking to return there again.

  4/26/2009 - Residence - Council Bluffs, Iowa
This particular client had claims of boxes another objects being moved. One specific instance included christmas presents that were left right next to the wall and upon return, all boxes pull a few feet away from the wall an in a line.
Another claim involved the sound of the front door opening by itself, even thought it had been locked.

We setup our equipment and focused on investigating 4 main areas of the house, the bedroom with the presents, the attic, the dining area and the basement. We had DVR cameras setup in the bedroom with the presents, the attic, one on the front door and one covering the basement stairs and hallway.

We conducted various EVP sessions a few different personal experiences. The first of which was a flashlight turn on and off by itself in the bedroom. This occured a couple different instances throughout the night. In that same room, Kyle and Craig noticed an overwhelm smell of cinnamon that filled the room.
The EMF never varied from the baseline with the exception of the basement, in which EMF was traced back to wiring with the walls.

Conclusion
Even though we had activity using a flashlight and a spontaneous overwhelming smell of cinnamon, we were not able to find any another solid documentation of activity. Since activity does not happen on demand, this particular case warrants a follow-up investigation.

4/16/2009 - Villisca Axe Murder House Follow-up - Villisca, Iowa
This investigation was a follow-up investigation to our 10/9/2008 investigation.
Kyle and Janet arrived at the house at approximately 18:15 with Mary, Craig and Lowell arriving at approximately 18:42. Since this was a follow-up investigation we skipped the tour and began to take base readings in and around the house.

We attempted to debunk a few items: the ball rolling back to the sender in the parlor room and the upstairs children’s bedroom closet door opening and closing itself.

After completing debunking, we continued to discuss how we wanted to setup the DVR cameras and EVP recorders. We then proceeded to setup the equipment.

We conducted various EVP sessions in 2 teams: Kyle, Craig and Lowell as one team, and then Mary and Janet as the other team. Later on in the evening there were 3 lone EVP sessions. Kyle conducted his session in the blue bedroom downstairs. Lowell conducted his EVP session in the parents’ bedroom upstairs and Craig conducted his in the children’s bedroom upstairs. We concluded the investigation by tearing down and packing up the equipment.

Upon reviewing the evidence, we had a few different EVP's that primarly came from the children's bedroom upstairs. This is the same room in which Kyle, Craig and Lowell heard a disembodied voice in the first investigation. In one of the EVP's, Craig asked "Is there anything you would like to convey?" Shortly after he asked the question, you hear a reponse of "No."

1/24/2009 - Squirrel Cage Jail - Council Bluffs, Iowa
Summary
We arrived at approximately 19:15 were given a tour of the jail. We setup the equipment and began the investigation at about 20:00. We setup four stationary IR DVR cameras. One camera was in the main jail area, 1st floor aiming towards the hall of solitary confinement, as well as the walk around the cell and one of the jail cells. Another was placed in the 3rd floor infirmary. And the other 2 were setup on opposite ends of the 4th floor apartment area, where most of the claims of paranormal activity have occurred. We placed a stationary EVP recorder in the actual solitary confinement area, 1 on the 4th floor in the north room, and one in an adjacent room where Ryan Roenfeld had actually heard whispering at one time. Another EVP recorder Kyle and Craig carried for EVP communication sessions and the other was given to Janet and Mary for EVP communications sessions. Kyle was on the fourth floor setting up an IR camera with Craig running the cable down to command. Kyle heard a distant and soft scream that seemed to be in desperation. No one else heard this which he found interesting because if he had to judge where it came from, it sounded like downstairs in the main part of the jail where we had 3 investigators doing set up. One of the prior claims was the armoire on the 4th floor opening and closing. Even during setup we noticed how easily the door swings open. It is noticeably off balance, and once the door goes beyond its breaking point, gravity really takes over. Later on in the night, Kyle and Craig did testing and were able to cause the door to swing open by walking around on the floor. We came to the conclusion that walking around throughout that floor is enough to make the door move little by little and then hit its breaking point and opens fully.
Kyle and Craig did a lot of EVP communication sessions in various areas throughout the jail. We used a K-II meter and a Mel EMF meter. We weren’t getting any hits on the K-II. The first session I did get one spike of 2.3 on the Mel. But most sessions seemed uneventful. I did a couple of solo EVP sessions in a couple of the jail cells. Some of these involved some provoking. We also captured an EMF burst down in solitary confinement of 4.6 on the Mel. We tried to find sources for this, but couldn’t. We also did baseline sweeps before which were right at about 0.2. The most interesting thing we had happen was on the 4th floor, north room; Kyle and Craig were setting up to do an EVP session there, and the K-II started going off. Kyle got his camcorder on it and started recording. We were actually able to ask yes or no questions and have responses. The range would fluctuate from 1.5 up to 10 milligauss, the 3rd light on the meter. Kyle and Craig went back up again and brought Ryan, with us and actually had him ask some questions. The K-II was responding to some stuff again.

Conclusion
In weighing through all the evidence, we have come to the conclusion that there is some paranormal activity. It seems like there is some residual activity do to some of the random evidence, but there does appear to be some intelligent activity because of the responsiveness of some of the K-II sessions. We, however, don’t believe it is full-fledged haunted, mainly because there is not enough solid evidence to support a consistent haunting. We would like to investigate again with a focused investigation on EVP sessions in the areas with which have already found activity.

10/09/2008 - Villisca Axe Murder House - Villisca, Iowa
Before beginning investigating, we had a meeting in which to go over our approach to investigating this house. Now knowing the history of house, location and people murder as well the previous accounts of paranormal activity, Lowell recommended that we use Mary and Janet to gain a trust and repo ire with the 4 children that were murdered in the upstairs bedroom. This room has been known to be one of the paranormal "hot spots". We set up 2 cameras in this room. The HD camera was placed on the bed in the southeast corner of the room, aiming at the bed room closet. Another camera was placed to be focused on the attic door. We also placed one EVP on the bed behind the HD camera as well as one EVP inside the bedroom closet. Lowell recommended that w Janet and Mary use an indirect conversation technique. In this technique, they don't acknowledge any paranormal presence, but instead carry on a conversation between the 2 of them. This proved to be very effective. Within a small amount of time, the closet door opened and stayed opened a bit, and then eventually slammed shut. Throughout the night we had similar events.

We were able to catch the door opening and closing a couple of times on video. We also captured a few EVP's, one that was particularly significant. Kyle, Lowell and I also had a personal experience as we were setting up for another interaction. We were standing in the kids' bedroom upstairs and heard a deep man's voice, almost demonic sounding that seem to come from the adjacent bedroom. I personally thought it was 2 syllable's but not intelligible. It was one of those sounds that I had to do a double take because I wasn't sure if I was just hearing things, but as I looked at Kyle and his expression, I could tell he had heard it too. Unfortunately, since we were setting up, we didn't have any EVP's running. Overall, it was a very good experience.

I remember after doing some review that during the filming of the Janet and Mary being in the kid's bedroom for the second time, that the HD camera suddenly shut off. We suspected a battery drain. This happened during the peak of activity during that recording. I decided to run a test to see how much time I should've had remaining on that battery for recording. After all my calculations and testing, there should have been another 30 minutes of record time. I went into the investigation with a fully charged battery and was only able to get about 64 minutes of record time off of one charge (with the light on). When I ran test again, with a fully charged battery. I was able to record 1hr and 40 minutes (with the light on) before the camera shut off. I have concluded that this was a battery drain. Kyle also had a similar experience early on in the investigation with his brand new (Energizer) batteries. He place brand new batteries in his digital camera, and within a minute they were drained. His digital camera shut off and he couldn't get it back on until put another set of new batteries in.
