What is Paranormal Studio Software?
Craig is a software engineer by day, so in his free time, he wanted to created a piece of ghost hunting and paranormal software designed for the needs of paranormal investigation teams.
This piece of software allows an investigator or investigative team to load all of their evidence into the system by data tracks. This is not limited to just audio and video data, and other data as wells, such as EMF readings, temperature readings, personal experices,etc. All of these items can be lined up within the investigation timeline for quick an easy cross reference.
It also includes "hot keys" for evidence review. This is extremely helpful with evidence review. For example, using this application, you are currently reviewing a DVR camera in full screen mode. You think you might have seen something worth noting. With the touch of a hot-key on the keyboard, the timeline jumps back 5 seconds. Need more time? Another key jumps back 10 seconds. So after reviewing what you saw, this is definitely note worthy. You watch the clip one more time and when you see the event, click the 'B' key and the timeline stops. Up pops the bookmark dialog, which allows you to quickly right a note about this particular event at this time on this data track. In addition, you have the ability to add 'Start seconds before' and 'End seconds after' times. What do these do?
When going through the bookmarks tree view, you can quickly jump to this position in the timeline and then start playing the clip the designated seconds before the bookmarked spot. But that isn't all. When the "Include In Report" option is check for a bookmark, that application using these settings to automatically make your clips for client report. What is the client report?
The client report can be generated from all of your evidence bookmarks and notes. It will automatically create the media clips, and generate all of the information into a PDF document, as wells create an HTML page that can be placed on a web site with links to the clips.
This is devised to be a 2 tier software. The first tier can act as standalone application maintaining everthing locally on you PC. The second tier takes the system to the next level. The second tier involves a server-base service that allows all of your team members to connect to the same database of information from their own remote locations. They can log into the software, view their assigned pieces of evidence to review and download their necessary media and do their own review. The team leaders can administor the overall investigation by assigning their team members specific pieces of evidence to review as well as see the progress they have been making in your review.
The team system allows an investigation team to collaborate on an investigation remotely and ultimately create quicker turn around times for evidence review.
